About us

At Meri Sanskriti our mission is to empower people to embrace culture in a western world. We understand growing up outside of India and still staying connected with culture can be a juggle and our mission is to help you ease that balance!

-Meri Sanskriti- Our goal is to bring representation of underrepresented communities, advocate for socio-cultural causes to bring upon change through various avenues, and bring together people to experience traditional culture in a new age way!We have workshops, events, and we arrange authentic travel experiences in India! We are Param & Amruta, a couple that is passionate about re-defining heritage and experiencing culture in a new way. Life is all about the experiences we have and we want to share our experiences with you, while telling stories, having conversations, creating a place to our unique selves. Understanding heritage , understanding what is actually heritage vs culture from society in time periods, and give people heritage experiences in a modern way. We believe that is how we can preserve and carry forward culture, by keeping it relevant to modern times. Culture is made by people and we can change it.

A Message From our Founder

Hi! My Name is Amruta Panth. I was born & raised in Virginia, in a Thanjavur Marathi household. (Means we are a mix of Tamil + Marathi) I grew up, as many Indian-American children have, very confused about my identity. Coming out of the closet to embrace my culture & be proud of it, took me a while, but I got there! My vision is to see a world where Indian-American’s are able to embrace our culture and embrace themselves in the process. Feeling confident of who they are and loving themselves from the core. Understanding that we can be Indian, and American! We don’t have to change any part of ourselves to fit in anywhere, we are unique exactly how we are! By profession I have a BBA in Marketing from Marymount University. I worked in corporate for 9 years before realizing my passion for culture, giving back, and my journey of self love. I started Meri Sanskriti as a blog, which turned into a business plan, and then a live venture shortly after I was laid off from my corporate job in 2019. It started from dance classes to now having 3 separate aspects to the brand! I am also a Bharatanatyam Dancer, Actor, Author, and Choreographer. You can find me on Instagram at @__a_m_r_u_t_a__ and @MeriSanskriti. My husband Param and I jointly run Meri Sanskriti and are passionate about creating a world where we can love and appreciate our heritage while evolving with times together.
