How Param Walked into Amruta’s life?

Param graduated with a Bachelors in Chemistry, and then decided he did NOT want to pursue Chemistry for a masters degree. As he strolled around looking for something that fit his interest, he found an opportunity to obtain a Masters in Heritage Management. He led a walk on November 26th, 2017 for a group of NRIs who were here for a wedding in Ahmedabad exploring the old city. Among one of those NRI’s was his now wife and our Founder-Amruta! Amruta being an Indian-American always had a sparking interest for her heritage and after this walk and connecting with Param, she was so inspired that one could pursue their passion as a career, she started a blog called Meri Sanskriti. While Amruta laid the foundation for Meri Sanskriti, Param was building his career in Heritage and they stayed in touch, meeting once in Mahabalipuram. After a year of “we are just friends”, Amruta visited India yet again to attend a wedding, this time met Param’s family and the rest is history.

Heritage Walk of the Ahmedabad city is about a mile long, but walking with us makes a difference as we put our heart, soul and sweat into making this a mile long walk into a lifetime memory. We have a team of walk leaders who are not only passionately doing this, but they have converted their passion into the profession by opting for studies in the field of Heritage, Culture, Sociology and Indic Studies. This gives an opportunity to tell the history in such a way that it doesn’t ever sound boring like any History class. Our team lead was a part of UNESCO’s technical analysis team when they came here for the inspection for the World Heritage City tag.
